So everyone keeps asking what the final total was... the Grand Finale fundraiser brought in about $6,000 to bring the overall up to over $26,000! My initial estimate was about $5000, so I'm content with more than 5 times that.
Thanks for following along, and for all your support!
Finally, the last week has come! I can’t wait for next weekend, it should be a great party and I’m expecting it too be a huge success. So far total fundraising is roughly $17,000! Please get your tickets to the fundraiser, Aug 16th at The Lamplighter, as soon as possible to ensure you get one before they sell out. Also, please be sure to come by the Final Sale at my apartment on Aug 15th. Thanks again for all your support.
Somehow I still have a great computer, an almost new surfboard, and great Canali suit that I just can’t seem to sell. Everything else in this apartment is dwindling down, except for my underwear… hard to believe there isn’t a market for them! It might be that some or all of these “bigger ticket” items are left over in 2 weeks for the final sale, where the buyer names the price, no negotiations! I’d love to sell them ahead of time, but it would be funny if they’re sold at the last minute too!
As for the Grand Finale, tickets are going fast, so don’t be left out. There will be some great door prizes and deals in the silent auction, with donations coming in from local restaurants, Flight Centre, and the Vancouver Canucks!
Total fundraising is now about $16,000! These days I’m nursing a really sore back, and constantly thinking about how nice it will be to sleep in a bed again… in less than a month! These days I’m running around town trying to secure some gift cards for the silent auction, and I must say that it is going very well. There will be lots of door prizes and great items in the silent auction. Now the biggest challenge is getting people to buy tickets (even though lots of folks have said that they plan to buy them soon… They’re only $14 and save 2 lives, so go down to The Lamplighter and buy yours!
Also, thanks again to Todd and Karen at Fox radio for a fun time on the air yesterday, can’t wait to come back!
One month left!!! I can’t wait to get a full night’s sleep… still daydream about it all the time. Ticket sales for the Aug 16th Grande Finally are coming along, as are the donations for the silent auction and door prizes. Fundraising has now reached over 15.5 thousand dollars, and we’ve been getting our message out to more people thanks to so much radio, TV, and newspaper coverage. I’ll be on the radio again next week, Thursday the 23, around 4pm, on 99.3 The Fox, so tune in! Also, check out the facebook group for the video I just posted of a tour around my apartment. Thanks again for following along.
This was a busy week, getting things in place for the August 16th Grand Finale. I’ve got tickets now, so you can get them through me, or at The Lamplighter. Here’s a link with more details, or check out last week’s blog: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=39
I’d also like to thank Todd and Karen at The Fox 99.3 for having me on their show yesterday, that was tons of fun! I’m looking forward to being back on the show July 23rd.
With the end of this project approaching, people are starting to come by and look at things before it’s all gone, and I welcome you to do the same. There’s a lot left to sell!
Thanks for all your support!
First one:
7-Dollar-Lives is pleased to announce the Grand Finale fundraiser on August 16th at The Lamplighter in Gastown, Vancouver. The last fundraiser at The Lamplighter was a great time, and this one promises to be even better! Last time we gave away some great door prizes: everything from clothing to a basket of several Bacardi bottles, to a keg of beer from Granville Island. The Grand Finale will have even more.
On top of all the swag, the raffles and the great bargains in the silent auction, we’re also pleased have a live performance from Minto, one of Vancouver’s hottest up and coming bands. They’ve just returned from Chicago, where they recorded their new album “Lay It On” with Steve Albini and they’re looking forward to rockin out at The Lamplighter. They’ll be followed up by Dana D and his DJ friends on the decks, so get ready for an entertaining night!
As for the Grand Finale, I’ll be selling the clothes of my back! One item per hour until it’s all sold! I’m leaving without a possession or a cent to my name, so please come out and celebrate.
Tickets will be $14, with 100% going to charity, so each ticket saves 2 lives!
Tickets will be available (as of July 1st) at The Lamplighter (92 Water St.) or through Patrick Edwards (7dollarlives@gmail.com) or through the legendary Richie Hendo (778-989-3556)
Tickets are limited, so please get yours before they run out!
Invite your friends and family too! (Sorry, no minors)

Second one:
Dollar-Lives is pleased to announce a once-in-a-lifetime event: the final blowout of every possession Patrick has accumulated in his lifetime. You probably won’t get this chance again… just sayin. After about 9 months spent selling things off, there’s still a lot of good stuff left (just check the group page photos to see for yourself!). But it’s all got to go. Whatever isn’t sold by the morning of the 16th, except the clothes on Patrick’s back, will be dropped off at The Salvation Army.
So here’s the deal: come by Pat’s place on August 15th between 9am and 7pm, pick anything you would like to buy, and name the price (in multiples of $7). No fuss, just name the price, pay the donation, and take your purchase… shopping made easy! Feel free to text or call enroute to see if Pat would like a coffee, snack, or beer (all food, booze, and cooking instruments are being sold too, so don’t starve me!).
BRING CASH!!!
